ParticipantA person created a profile in the Express entry. He has six months of Foreign skilled work experience and 23 months of Canadian work experience as follows:
1) Oct. 25, 2018, to April 25, 2019 – Total 6 months of Foreign work experience – TEER 2
2) May 16, 2022, to April 22, 2024 – Total 22 months – Canadian work experience – TEER 1
3) Aug. 19, 2024 to Sept. 19, 2024 – Total 1 month – Canadian work experience – TEER 0
4) Nov. 1, 2024, to now – He is currently in his home country obtaining 6 more months of Foreign work experience in TEER 2.QUESTIONS:
1) He has 23 months of Canadian work experience, the system assigned him 53 CRS points as two years of Canadian experience (even though he is short by one month). If he gets an ITA and submits the PR application, will this be an issue or the missing month will lower his total CRS score?
2) Once he completes the second set of six months of Foreign work experience in TEER 2 (around May 1, 2025). He will have completed 12 months of Foreign work experience (in two sets). Will this give him the additional CRS points as ONE year of Foreign work experience? I tested it in the system, and, it does, but I wanted to confirm if this is still valid and not a system glitch.
Any advice on what to look for is appreciated. Thank you for your answer!

ParticipantHi Al,
Thank you for your answer. Just to clarify in regards to my second question. So, six months of Foreign work experience obtained in 2019 + plus another six months of Foreign work experience now in 2025, WILL NOT trigger the additional CRS points in the “Skill and transferability factors – Canadian work experience + Foreign work experience”?
I know this work experience won’t qualify him for the “Federal Skill Worker program” as for that, he will need 12 months of “continuous” work experience, but he is looking to apply for the Canadian Work Experience. When I tested this scenario in his EE profile (two sets of six months of foreign work experience), it did give him the extra 50 CRS points because the system summarized a total of 12 months of foreign work experience but I am afraid that If we were to submit this in the future, they may say, it has to be continuous to count and get his PR rejected.
